Laundry Equipment Service Technician

Summary
This position is responsible for giving on-site diagnoses and repairs of commercial washers and dryers in in common area laundry rooms at multi-family housing settings by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties

  1. Services and repairs laundry equipment in central laundry rooms located within apartment complexes, universities and condos.
  2. Determines if any parts or replacements are needed.
  3. Works with on-site apartment staff to manage the needs of the laundry room.

Job Duties

  • Uses and maintains a company vehicle throughout Oregon and SW Washington.
  • Diagnoses and reads commercial washer and dryer equipment.
  • Follows the route of dispatched calls as it pertains to your service area.
  • Rebuilds equipment to be placed back into service.
  • Advises sales department of machines that need to be replaced.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Respectfully takes direction from Supervisor and Manager

Education & Experience
A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience working for appliance repair company or role. Experience servicing large chassis equipment for the vended laundry stores and hospitality industry preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations
A valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and automobile liability coverage or access to an insured vehicle.

Travel Requirement
This position requires continuous (76%+ of the position) in-state and out-of-state travel for the purpose(s) of regular day trips in Oregon and SW Washington based service areas.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills
Has the minimal skills necessary to operate a computer. Can log on to a computer system, navigate in windows, perform simple tasks within applications, and enter information into a database. Experience with Microsoft Outlook

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
